Junior Canpower

Junior CanPower is designed for younger skaters, approximately initiation to novice aged, or older beginner skaters, who can stand up on skates and move forward glide and stride) who are not ready for Senior CanPower.
Junior CanPower helps develop basic skating abilities in a power skating-specific environment, including balance skills, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and agility skills.

Full protective hockey equipment is required for this program.


Senior CanPower

Senior CanPower is an instructional program that teaches skating skills and techniques to hockey and ringette players in a format that applies to the game situations.
Senior CanPower is geared to skaters who are atom aged hockey players or older who already have basic forward and backward skating skills. They should be able to skate the length of the rink using alternate strides and be able to stop on command without use of the boards.
Senior CanPower skaters should have at least 1 year of hockey or ringette experience.

Full protective hockey equipment is required for these programs.

We offer 2 CanPower Programs:

  • CanPower with an Edge Program: Combines the focus of skating and edge quality with puck control while skating.  Focus will be placed on stick handling, puck protection, deking (dekes), as well as shooting and passing.  Full protective gear will be required.
  • CanPower Skate Program: an action-packed, high energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance.
